The Sacrament of Holy Baptism

After a conversation with the Pastor in which the importance of this gracious act and how it is lived out in a Christian lifestyle is discussed, a mutual determination will be made as to everyone’s participation in this Sacrament.

The Sacrament of Holy Communion

In a little bread and a little wine/grape juice we believe Jesus promises to be present for us; nourishing us for the life we live and helping us to fulfill the mission entrusted to us of sharing God’s salvation with others.  As we eat and drink together we experience not only oneness with God, but unity with others who place their trust in God’s promises of love, forgiveness and hope.  We celebrate this Sacrament every Sunday and at special worship services.

We share in Holy Communion with all the baptized.  Periodically, a learning opportunity is offered to help prepare individuals or families who have never received the elements of Holy Communion.

Weddings

As the planning process begins please contact our Pastor before any other arrangements are made.  It is our desire to talk with each couple as to the spiritual importance of this significant life event.  At the time of talking with Pastor and if he agrees to preside at the wedding, a packet of information will be made available and all other plans can proceed from that point.  For those who are not actively involved in the ministry of Our Savior’s, Pastor’s involvement is at his theological and scheduling discretion.

Funerals

To be actively involved in the life of a congregation creates a special relationship.  When death ends our earthly relating, we, as a congregation, experience a loss.  Yet, as the people of God / followers of a Risen Lord, we believe some very specific things about life, death and eternal life.  We not only want to minister to those who grieve, but we want to celebrate our God and the life and service of our sister or brother who has died.  Please let us know of an impending death or a death that has occurred as soon as possible.  We offer to you our support and the hope of a funeral worship service (preferably here at the church building or if your family desires, a funeral home or cemetery) through which our lives are focused on the everlasting promises of God.  We will work with you and any funeral home of your choice to create an atmosphere of hope in the midst of sorrow.
