A group of knitters and crocheters, all ages, meets the third Saturday of each month at 10:30 AM in a Peter’s Hall classroom.

We knit/crochet Prayer shawls, hats, scarves, mittens, sweaters, baby items and toys. Prayer shawls go to church members who know of someone who needs comfort and a reminder of God’s love while going through a difficult time. We also give Prayer shawls to Palos Community Hospital where they are given to mostly cancer patients.

The other articles go to PADS, food pantry families, South Suburban Pregnancy Center, South Suburban Crisis Center, and World Vision. Almost 750 items were made and distributed in 2012.We have been meeting for several years now. We have several persons who are unable to attend meetings but knit/crochet items and donate them to us. We accept yarn,
knitting needles, crochet hooks and monetary donations (which are used to purchase Lion Brand Homespun yarn for Prayer shawls). We do not sell any items.Our meetings are very uplifting and inspiring as we share our months worth of work.

Attempts are made to teach knitting and crocheting for those who want to learn.
All are welcome. Coffee is served.
